Pots on the Green

Join us for a two-day ceramic art show celebrating the area’s rich pottery heritage. Unique, original pottery by select artisans will be on display and for sale. Learn about the history of pottery and techniques used in our area during four distinct demonstrations and talks. The festival will take place June 21-22, 2019 at The Village Green Gazebo in Cashiers.

Los Moralitos Circus

Ever wonder how truly “death-defying” circus performers are? Well, these fourth-generation tumblers, acrobats, aerialists, trapeze artists, and contortionists are coming to Cherokee, and the feats of skill they put on display are truly astounding. See “the giant wheel of death”! See “the globe of death”! See the rolla bolla and, for some people, the most terrifying thing of all: clowns!

Lake Glenville Fireworks

The main public event for the Friends of Lake Glenville is the celebration of our nation’s birthday during the July 4th week. This year's show is on July 2nd (Rain Date: July 6) and starts around 9:30pm, but we recommend you be in place by 9pm.

Bryson City Freedom Fest

The old fashioned street festival features local music throughout the day, handcrafted arts, festival food, and a children's area. Stay for the full day or return later to enjoy the headliner show at 8 p.m. followed by the fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Fireworks at Lake Junaluska

Enjoy a free fireworks display at Lake Junaluska, a spectacular show with the fireworks shot from the dam and reflecting beautifully on the lake.

Downtown Sylva Fireworks

 The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will host the July 4 fireworks downtown at dusk. The evening’s festivities will also feature the Carolina Soul Band before the fireworks.

Cherokee Powwow

Participate in an authentic Native American Powwow July 5-7 at the Acquoni Expo Center, and experience dancing, drumming, and tribal regalia. Hundreds of world-champion dancers and drummers will compete for thousands of dollars in prizes. Activities kick off with the "Grand Entry" march on July 5 at 7 p.m., and a fireworks display will take place around 10 on July 6.
